I've gotten a few emails from people telling me that while the interface is easy enough to use, it has too large a footprint and makes it harder to use when switching back and forth between other applications since it ends up getting in the way.
So I'm currently in the process of scaling down the interface to make the window a lot smaller and make it easier to use it while switching between programs. The upside, other than obviously being smaller is that it looks much better. I've been working with custom controls to make the interface more compact rather than trying to push Apple's controls closer together.
The downside is that it'll take me slightly longer to get all the features enabled. Unfortunate, but I think the program will be all around better for this interface update, when all is said and done.
Powerful Over Power
What good is power when you can't use it? We believe software should be easy to use whether you're trying to write a note or a novel, change the size of an image or create your masterpiece.
All Together Now
You shouldn't have to fight your programs to move information between them, nor should you be forced to lug around one gargantuan application that can do everything under the sun.
It's time for programs to start working together, to do what they're asked and nothing they're not; to pass the ball and be a team player. You wouldn't want your doctor to fix your car, so why would you want your text editor to edit your photos?
